Deferment
In the U.K., deferment refers to the postponement of student loan payments for a period of 12 months. Deferment for student loans can be granted if you have a fixed monthly income of £2,161 or less and have moved your student loan onto a fixed-term loan. Deferred-payment plans for students vary around the world. For instance, some banks offering student loans in India ask for repayment beginning one year after the course ends, or 6 months after getting a job, whichever is earlier.
