Estate Planning

Appraisal

How will you divide your property amongst your heirs if you don't know how much it's worth? Before writing the will, it's wise to have your estate appraised. A professional property appraiser-a qualified, disinterested expert-should make an estimate of its value. Courts commonly order appraisals in probate after someone dies, but it's good to have some confirmation of value before reaching that point.
