Joint Tenancy
This is a way to legally share ownership of your property without a will. When two people own property as joint tenants and one owner dies, the other owner automatically owns the deceased person's share. All co-owners have equal ownership and usage rights of the property until their deaths. No will is required to transfer the property, which goes directly to the surviving joint tenants without the delay and costs of probate.
It's not so simple in India, however. Under Hindu law, ownership rights are not always clear-cut and can differ from state to state. You may wish to consult a legal adviser to learn the different ways of owning property where you live.
