Executor
An executor is the person assigned to collect the assets in your estate and satisfy your debts and any other liabilities and then distribute the remainder to the persons entitled under your will. This is often a close friend or a family member, though some people opt for a professional executor. Your executor should be made aware of the appointment in advance, and any instructions should be put in writing.
