Actively Managed Funds
These are funds run by a money manager whose primary goal is to beat an index or a benchmark such as the FTSE 100 index. Index funds, in contrast, have passive management and simply track a benchmark instead of trying to beat it. Expenses of actively managed funds are significantly higher than those of most index funds.
